With hands-on experience modifying over 100 watches, Joshua brings both expertise and passion to each custom build. When you begin designing your own watch, he’ll guide you through all available options, offer expert advice, and carefully source the ideal components for your unique design.

Our Process

At ModsbyShots, every custom Seiko mod begins with a collaborative design process. You'll work directly with Joshua to create a watch that reflects your style and preferences, choosing everything from the dial and hands to the case and strap. Once the design is finalized, a 50% deposit is required to secure your build and begin sourcing the parts. From there, Joshua hand-assembles your custom timepiece with care and precision. The remaining balance is paid upon completion, just before your one-of-a-kind watch is shipped to you.

Designing:

Designing your custom Seiko mod is where the creative journey begins. With thousands of options to choose from—including cases, dials, hands, and straps—your build can be as classic or unique as you want it to be. There are also additional customization choices, such as crown styles and rotor designs, for those wanting to go the extra mile. The process can feel overwhelming at first, but don’t worry—Joshua will guide you through every step. It can also be helpful to come with an idea or inspiration in mind, whether it's a specific colour scheme, a watch you’ve seen on the market, or a particular theme you’d like to bring to life. Together, we’ll turn your vision into a truly one-of-a-kind timepiece.

Deposit:

To begin your custom Seiko mod build, a 50% deposit is required once the design has been finalized. This deposit secures your order and allows us to begin sourcing the necessary parts for your unique build. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the watch, just before it's ready to be shipped. This split payment system ensures a smooth process and guarantees your commitment to the custom project.

Completion:

Once your deposit is received and all parts are sourced, the full build process typically takes 7 to 15 days to complete. Throughout this time, you’ll be kept up to date at every stage—from part sourcing and assembly to final testing—so you always know exactly where your watch is in the process. We pride ourselves on clear communication and attention to detail, ensuring your custom timepiece is built to the highest standard from start to finish.
